En Gedi

En Gedi is a weekly gathering of young adults who are interested in learning to live out the life that Jesus calls us to live within the encouragement and community of a group.  Our time together is spent diving into scripture and relevant spiritual subjects in a casual, conversational way. We also pray together and spend time catching up on leach other's life.

We get together on Sunday Mornings at 9:45-sh at 710 Park St.

Confused about En Gedi. Here are some FAQ's and some decent answers.

  • Is En Gedi a Sunday School class or what?
Well, sort of, but not exactly. It's definitely not like school and it's only on Sunday because that's the best time to get together. En Gedi is more like a blend of a discussion group and a hang-out session. Real casual, real open, hopefully pretty engaging.

  • Is En Gedi just for college-aged people?
Absolutely not! It's for anyone between the ages of 18 and 30. The more diverse the ages within the group, the better the sense of growth and community will be.

  • Will I feel stupid if I just show up without knowing anyone?
En Gedi people are great about making people feel a part of what's going on. How nuts would it be for us to not be welcoming and friendly? You can be sure that you will not be considered an outsider with this group.
  • Why do we meet so early?
We meet at 9:45 each Sunday morning so that people can do En Gedi and then worship at a local church afterwards if they want to.  Most of our people worship as part of the Crossing at 11:00.

  • What does "En Gedi" mean?
En Gedi is the name of an real oasis in Israel. Throughout history it has been both a tropical retreat and a hiding place for kings like David and Solomon. When they named this group, our people wanted it to represent a restoring oasis and a safe refuge for anyone who is looking for Christian growth and community. En Gedi is meant to be that oasis and refuge.

  • How do you pronounce "En Gedi"?
It's like this... "N Geddy"...almost sounds like the name of a rapper.
